Iron Aviator!!

For every Career Course they do an Iron Aviator which consists of a Ruck run, Bike, Run, and Swim I don't remember the distances. Jake did the ruck and run...Robbie did the bike and swim for their team of two. They got 5th (?) out of all the teams! Team 6 (Robbie's team for the Career Course) didn't get 1st but still did really well:-) I was far away for the awards and couldn't hear what they got. Here are a few pictures I took during the race..enjoy!

Jake hand made shirts for the two of them...Jake didn't go to UND he just likes to say the name 'Fighting Sioux'
Team 6!!
Waiting for the Ruck run to finish so they can start the bike
Jake is on the left and he is on Robbie's Team
Starting the bike with a little help
This guy put on a Mr. Potato costume while he was on his Ruck run...Its hard to see but he is there!
They were the best of friends
The new Chinook model :-)
Robbie coming in to tag Jake so he can run
The last tag...one thing left...the swim!
Almost done!!!

Finished!

Military Spouse Day

A Day for You, the Military Spouse

by Sara Horn

A day where no uniforms need mending or patches sewn on;
A day where nothing breaks down when you are all alone;
A day when children listen and there are no tears to dry;
A day where there are no questions and you don’t have to answer why;
This is the day I wish for you, the Military Spouse.

A day filled with peace and love and solidarity
A day where a phone call is just the start of the great day you’ll see
A day when you realize that what you do has fantastic enormous worth
A day where for the first time in months you can breathe without the hurt
This is the day I wish for you, The Military Spouse

A day that’s 24 hours closer to your loved one coming home
A day for webcams and Skype and soft I love you’s before dawn
A day where there are no silly arguments, just constant mutual grace
A day filled with blue skies, happiness and faith.

This is the day I wish for you, The Military Spouse

May 6, 2011 is Military Spouse Appreciation Day. It is a day that is set aside each year to recognize and honor the contributions and sacrifices of military spouses.

In 1984, then President Ronald Reagan proclaimed the Friday before Mother's Day to be designated asMilitary Spouse Appreciation Day. Since then, each President and senior military leaders have echoed the sentiments expressed by President Reagan.

It is a day to recognize the importance of our unsung heroes. Military spouses, past and present, are an extraordinary group of individuals. While their husbands or wives took an oath and signed on a dotted line when they joined the military, spouses were enlisted through the back door with the vows they took on their wedding day. In choosing their mates, they inadvertently chose their way of life. We personally want to thank all our military spouses and hope you will join us in doing so.

Please thank them for their sacrifices and for their service as a military spouse. Let's see some likes and thank you's to each other, your Volunteer FRG leaders who give unselfishly of themselves to support the Families. HOOAH.

My Birthday Weekend!

This past weekend was my 24th birthday. It was amazing! Saturday I woke up and Robbie made me breakfast in bed then we got ready and went to play Putt putt and Go Karts :-) After that we came home and layed around watched a movie. Then it was time for dinner! We went to a FANTASTIC Japanese Restaurant, my steak was seriously the most wonderful thing I've ever had it was sooooo tender! I want to go back again very very soon:-) Sunday we went to the Fun Zone and played Laser tag, bumper cars, this basketball game on a trampoline, went skating and played a few games! It was a great weekend and we had a blast! Robbie did an amazing job at making me feel special all weekend long.
