Exploring El Paso

We have been exploring various parts of El Paso. Last weekend we went through the mountain on Transmountain Road. This past Saturday we went on the highway right along the boarder with Mexico on our way to the the Zoo. The Zoo was SUPER small compared to the Columbus Zoo but still fun. This coming weekend we are planning a trip to Carlsbad Caverns, so be on the look out for pictures from that trip :-) We are having lots of fun driving out and about in El Paso and checking out all kinds of fun things to do! Hope you enjoy the pictures

Out there in the distance is where our house will be :-)

"Did I ruin your picture?!"

Matthew R. Shoemaker

Matt was an amazing person. It has been amazing to read all the posts people have posted to his Facebook wall telling him how they felt or how he was always there for them. Matt was always thinking of others at work, home, out with friends...everywhere. I wanted to do a post with a few pictures of him in his memory and share with all of you how wonderful he was.

I may not have been able to hang out with him much but whenever I did he always seemed to make everyone laugh. Matt was family to me, the entire Shoemaker family is family. They are wonderful and I hate that something so terrible happened to their loving family.

Please take a moment to look at the pictures of Matt with his family and friends. Also please check out this habitat for humanity link. Matt was working on raising money for the Habitat and the Shoemakers were hoping that people would make donations in his memory.

Basically the only thing keeping Midland on the map...

We finally found a Texas sign!

We drove into New Mexico to round our 'number of states we've been in on this trip' to a nice 10 and when we turned around we saw a sign! When we came into Texas from Arkansas there wasn't a sign ( I was very disappointed)

Please ignore the bug guts, I had no other way to get the picture

Hi Mr. and Mrs. George Bush!
Our GPS failed us, we put in DQ and it took us to this sheep farm....
