Robbie's Triathlon!

Robbie did an Olympic distance triathlon on Sunday April 17th. This consists of a 1.5 km (.93 miles) swim, 40 km (25miles) bike, and a 10 km (6.2 miles) run. He finished the race in 3 hours and 19 min. Due to the poorly marked race route he did an extra 5 miles on the bike portion. If he hadn't done that he would have finished in under 3 hours! The race was located in Navarre beach in Florida. The swim portion was in the Santa Rosa Sound and the run and bike were around the area near the sound. Robbie placed 41st overall but would have been somewhere around 26th if they didn't suck at marking the race.

****New Update****So Robbie was reading online about this race and the reviews about it. The timing chip people aren't certifying the results because of the errors during the bike portion. Also many of the participants are petitioning USA Triathlon to pull the accreditation from the event and the organizers and to also get refunds. While Robbie was racing he thought they were adding lines to the course and he read online that it really was happening and they were changing the route. So this race doesn't count for those people who were using this race to qualify for another. Robbie also read that people did anywhere from 17-33 miles on the bike portion that was supposed to be 25 miles long. Even with all of that Robbie enjoyed himself and wants to do another Triathlon again someday :-)****

Here are some pictures from the race!
This is the 'before' picture
The super small yellow dot is where they had to swim out to and then back
Almost ready!
GO!
Just finished the swim! He kicked butt!
This was right after he came in from the bike...he accidentally did 5 extra miles (he wasn't happy)
Coming in for the big finish!
FINISHED!
All done!
They all did really well!
